Hi, I’m Chad, the owner and craftsman behind Home Built Woodworking. I design and build custom cabinetry and built-ins that are made to fit your home exactly—never one-size-fits-all, never off-the-shelf.
Based in St. Johns, FL, I work with homeowners throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding areas to create cabinetry that looks great, functions well, and feels like it truly belongs in your home.
Why I Started Home Built Woodworking
I’ve always worked with my hands. Right out of high school, I was in the construction trades framing houses & doing remodeling work, so building has always been part of my life. When our family moved from to Florida and we didn’t have family nearby, I picked woodworking back up as a hobby and as something fun my son could be involved in too. What started as a creative outlet slowly grew into something bigger.
As I built more projects, I kept seeing the same problem homeowners deal with: big box stores didn’t have what people really wanted, and the prices for low-quality, mass-produced cabinets were hard to justify. I knew this was something that I could help with.
Home Built Woodworking started in our garage with small projects like TV stands, sofa tables, and consoles. Over time, it grew into custom cabinetry & built-ins. Even as the business has grown, the goal has stayed the same - give people more options, more flexibility, and more affordable custom work without sacrificing quality.
