What types of paints & stains do we use?

One of the best parts about having custom cabinetry or furniture built is being able to choose your finishes! This can be a great opportunity to make your new custom built in the focal point of your room or add some accent colors with smaller pieces of custom built furniture. There are some many color options available that one is sure to meet your needs.


Paint Types


We have tried many different types of paint over the years with different results. Currently we have found that Sherman Williams has the paint lines that meet our needs. All the paints that we use are water-based products that provide great durability, look great & don't have an odor.



Sherman Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel


We find that the SW Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel line provides great results for high traffic cabinetry & trim offering maximum durability & longevity. ProClassic Interior Water-based Acrylic-Alkyd


We find that the SW ProClassic Interior Water-based Acrylic-Alkyd line provides great results as well for cabinetry, doors & trim. Wood Stain Finishes


We find that Minwax wood finishes & sealers provide a beautiful rich color that enhances the natural wood grain to any project. Minwax finishes are perfect for staining unfinished wood furniture, cabinets, doors, trim, molding and floors. Minwax stains are available in 36 beautiful colors and now offer additional water-based stains that can be tinted to over 200 colors.

Clear Protective coatings


Minwax Polycrylic is our go to choice for clear coat protective sealers. It has a crystal clear finish & drys super fast allowing us to complete projects much faster than traditional oil base sealers. Polycrylic protects & adds beauty to interior wood surfaces including woodwork, furniture, doors and cabinets.


The wrap up...


When it comes to paints & stains we do tend to recommend the above products as we have found that they provide excellent finishes. Being that we provide a complete custom cabinetry experience there are no products that we wont try!
